Innovative Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) were developed using the advanced facade aluminium system of ALUMIL (Μ1 Solar Standard, M4 Solar Structural, M5 Solar Eco, M6 Solar Standard Alutherm, M50 Solar Energy, M65 Element, Spider System, etc.), so that PV panels may be adapted and harmoniously integrated within buildings.
ALUMIL offers advanced solutions for building integrated PV panels on:

- Window Frames
- Parking areas
Since 2000, ALUMIL is a pioneer in the development of Building-integrated photovoltaics, having participated in one of the very first BIPV projects in Greece. The project was about creating a second shell for the building of the chemical engineers of the National Technical University of Athens, with integrated solar panels.
This innovative construction generates electric power by absorbing solar radiation, while at the same time it takes advantage of the gap between the two building shells, by providing cooling during summer and heating during winter (Trombe wall). In particular, architectural aluminium systems were developed by ALUMIL to support 720 PV-panels, covering a surface of 480 m2.
